In English: We left Singapore for northern Vietnam and landed in Hanoi on October 25th. As we mention in the post ABOUT US we have been to Vietnam together one time before, but that was to the southern parts. Now we are in the North part of the country to explore this area.
For example we have done a cruise in the famous Halong Bay! This is a much larger area than we had anticipated, here are approximately 2000 limestone islands, but definitely as beautiful as we had thought. The islands rise from the sea with lush green jungle on top. Obviously there are a lot of boats here, both those which do day tours in Halong Bay and those on which you can stay overnight (like we did), but it does not really matter. They make a nice setting with the islands.
Yeah, we did an overnight cruise. We spent one night on the boat anchored somewhere in the Bay and one night in a hotel on Cat Ba Island, the largest island in Halong Bay. Both stays were fine, although the boat cabin was very small.. During the days we have done excursions. Fore example we visited Sung Sot Cave, the largest cave in Halong Bay, and Ti Top Island, from which we had a nice view of Halong Bay. When we were on Cat Ba Island we did a hike to the highest top of Cat Ba National Park and were rewarded with an amazing view of the Park from up there. We have also paddled some canoe during these days.
