In English: From beaches, scuba dives and village life to sky scrapes, shopping and city life – we are in Singapore!
Day one we bought tickets for the Hop-On-Hop-Off buses. Unfortunately the time tables were not that good matched together, so we had to wait a lot, and the guidance onboard was broken in several buses. Anyway, we got to see the main areas of Singapore at least.
For example we visited Marina Bay Sands, with its 2.561 rooms and the world´s largest infinity pool on the three hectares large rooftop terrace. During the day we just went inside to have a look but later in the evening we went up to their bar Cé La Vie at 57th floor and had a drink. What a spectacular view! The entrance fee to get to the bar is SGD 20 but that is withdrawn from your bill so it was so worth it to go up there.
We also visited Gardens by the Bay – a nature park spanning 101 hectares in the central region of Singapore. We saw it during the day only but if we had had more time we would have loved to see it during night as well. Then the 25 – 50 meters high so called Supertrees come alive with a coordinated light and music show. At least we saw some of it from our bar table at Cé La Vie.
Lastly we went for a ride in Singapore Flyer. You can not be in a city with a Ferris wheel without going for a ride :).
Our second day we went to the Arabic quarters. Such a nice neighborhood with colorful houses, lots of restaurants and small quirky shops. One of the streets here, Haji Lane, is said to be one of Singapore’s narrowest streets.
