In English: The day before yesterday we rented a motorbike and headed south on Bali. We had heard about the beautiful beaches Dreamland Beach and Padang Padang Beach, and wanted to check them out. With Kristin as driver and Vickan as navigator.
The first beach, Dreamland Beach, was a small beach between rocks with lots of people – and extremely high waves! Here you had to get in the water between the waves and then swim for life to get far enough before the next wave, otherwise you would never make it out. Trying to resist a wave was impossible, whether you wanted to go out or back in, so if you got caught in one you just had to dive under.
Padang Padang Beach was our next stop. Lots of people here as well but at least the water was a lot calmer. In order to get to this beach we had to walk on a very narrow staircase through the rocks, so narrow you could not meet in certain places. We bought a coconut here and enjoyed a bit of the sun, before we left for the next stop.
Just in time for the beautiful sunset we reached Pura Luhur Uluwatu, a temple located on a steep cliff about 70 meters above sea level. You can imagine the views – so nice! To enter the temple (or all temples in Bali actually) you had to wear a sarong and here they had purple sarongs that you could borrow that matched perfectly with all the flowering trees in the area. Really beautiful.
As mentioned in our last post we are staying in Seminyak at the moment but yesterday we went back to Canggu, to Perencak Beach. Time for surf lessons! There were so many different places to choose from but we ended up at Warung Ayu´s guys. For IDR 350.000 (about 300:-) we got a lesson, sweater, unlimited time with a surfboard, water to drink and access to their sun chairs. So how did the surf go? It was fun but very hard! Both me and Vickan managed to get at least a couple of okey yokes (that is, we got up on the board and could stand for a while..) so it was fun. We are not completely convinced that we got stuck on this surf thing though, but we have said that we have to give it another try later on. We had a late lunch this day so
