In English: It is really tiresome and sad to see how much trash it is everywhere you go. In the dikes, on the streets, on the beaches, in the water.. Everything from plastic bottles and straws to abandoned fishing nets and car tires. Therefore, it feels so good to be able to help cleaning when so-called Beach Cleanup Days are organized a little here and there. Unfortunately we missed the one that 4Ocean organized in Seminyak on Bali and we were off diving when a local organization did one on Flores Island, but on Koh Lipe we could finally join. Here, Trash Hero organizes cleaning days every Monday (for the past five years) which one is more than welcome to join. They go to different places on and around Koh Lipe and on the day we joined, we went to one of the northernmost beaches of Koh Adang, north of Koh Lipe. You can see on the photos what met us.. :(. We managed to fill a whole long tail boat and left a considerably cleaner and more beautiful beach behind us. As a reward we got watermelon and beer and when we got back to Koh Lipe, also lunch.
